‘Why wait and waste games’, some Arsenal fans react to recent update on Unai Emery’s future
|A section of the Arsenal supporters have been left unimpressed with the board’s decision to offer Unai Emery with a month’s time to improve the club’s performances on the playing field.
The Gunners went winless for the fifth successive game prior to the international break as they succumbed to a disappointing 2-0 Premier League defeat at Leicester City.
Due to that result, the club are already eight points adrift of the Champions League places after just 12 games into the season but Emery continues to receive the complete support from the club’s hierarchy.
Amidst this, The Mirror‘s Simon Mullock has claimed that Emery has been offered the next five Premier League matches to save his job and this has generated a negative reaction from some of the club’s faithful.
Here are some of the reactions on Twitter…

So the club recognizes that they are in a crisis, but choose to stick with the crisis instead of taking a chance that the next manager will help solve it

If I was him, I’d resign

Following the international break, the Gunners are scheduled to face the likes of Southampton, Norwich City, Brighton & Hove Albion and West Ham United in the Premier League before holders Manchester City visit the Emirates Stadium.
Barring the Cityzens, the Gunners should be fancied to pick up wins against the remaining four sides but based on the recent form before the international break, nothing remains a guarantee with the defence continuing to remain a concern.
Unless the board is just making up excuse n buying time to find a replacement, this just seems to be the season ending decision. Everybody can see damages already done from poor games, revolting fans to dissatisfied players themselves. Even the board is having a crisis! Emery is not only a poor fit to Arsenal, the fallout from him has spilled to other things. Best to do away with him now and gamble with ljundberg as caretaker. Couldn’t be worse than it already is with emery at the helm.
