A section of the Arsenal fans have been left surprised and frustrated following a recent update by David Ornstein on the future of manager Unai Emery.

The Gunners went winless for the fifth league game on the bounce over the weekend and the defensive performance was probably the worst of the campaign with Southampton offered with multiple chances to find the net.

Fortunately, the north London outfit came up with a point with Alexandre Lacazette netting a late equaliser in the 2-2 draw but the outcome of the game has clearly angered the supporters.

As a result, there have been fans calling for the dismissal of Emery from the head coach role but it appears that the same may not happen in the near future, as per Ornstein.

In a tweet on his official Twitter account, Ornstein revealed that Emery’s position remains safe for the forthcoming Europa League clash against Eintracht Frankfurt.

Furthermore, the Athletic correspondent added that the players have been given two days off following the recent stalemate and the update has certainly infuriated some of the supporters.

Twitter Reactions:

Arsenal’s second-half display against the Saints last weekend was far from acceptable as they allowed the south Coast outfit to play on the counter-attack on numerous occasions.

The Gunners managed to get something out of the game with the draw but they could have been on the wrong end of a heavy and embarrassing loss, had the Saints capitalised on the golden opportunities to find the net.

Despite this, Emery still seems to be receiving the support from the Gunners board but the same hierarchy needs to act soon as the players clearly don’t appear to be heeding to the Spaniard’s tactics.
