‘He is a leader’,’Top quality’, these Arsenal fans praise young attacker after West Ham win

A selection of Arsenal fans have heaped praise on the performance of Gabriel Martinelli during the club’s 3-1 comeback win over West Ham United in the Premier League.

The Gunners had gone into the game on a nine-match winless run and it appeared that the streak could extend after a below-par performance in the first half, where they conceded and failed to manage a shot on target.

At the beginning of the second half, the Hammers continued to press forward in the search for the next goal but out of the blue, Martinelli scored the equaliser at the hour mark with a fine finish in the box from a Sead Kolasinac cross.

That sparked the turnaround with Nicolas Pepe and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang also finding the net in the next nine minutes and the club were able to comfortably hang onto the advantage for the remaining part of the game.

Martinelli did not provide much going forward during his first Premier League start for the Gunners but he was hugely impressive after the break with his maiden league goal and continued to display a high workrate as he closed down the Hammers defenders at every possible opportunity.

This has certainly caught the eye of a number of Arsenal fans on Twitter and a few of them have taken their time to praise the Brazilian, who has now netted eight goals from just seven starts across all competitions.
