‘So poor’, ‘Appalling’, these Arsenal fans slam 28-year-old star after Bournemouth draw

A selection of Arsenal fans have slammed the performance from Alexandre Lacazette following the club’s disappointing 1-1 Premier League draw against Bournemouth on the road.

The north London giants played their game under manager Mikel Arteta on Boxing Day and it was a frustrating experience with the game ending in a stalemate.

There was definitely an improvement in the attacking display with more intensity shown throughout the 90 minutes but the lack of cutting edge in the final third contributed to a share of the spoils.

Lacazette was handed with the chance to lead the line after managing just one substitute appearance in the past three league games but he struggled to make the most of the opportunity.

The Frenchman was lively with his good pressing and ability to counter-attack but he was still poor with his finishing and should have scored the winning goal past Aaron Ramsdale in the 70th minute.

Towards the end of the game, he had a couple of more chances to test the goalkeeper but he made the wrong decision to pass out wide to Reiss Nelson and Joe Willock, who could not find the net.

Lacazette ended the match with no shots on target (whoscored) and some of the fans have put the blame on him for the eventual outcome of the Premier League clash.

Here are some of the reactions on Twitter…

Lacazette’s confidence has undoubtedly taken a hit after the recent games where he has been dropped to the bench but it remains to be seen whether he will retain his starting spot against Chelsea this weekend.

Nicolas Pepe came up with a lively cameo appearance where he made more take-ons (3) than any other player and the Ivorian could possibly be handed with a starting role for the derby on the right wing.

Aubameyang looked much more involved from the left side of the attack against Bournemouth after a couple of poor displays but he seems a better choice to lead the line with Lacazette looking out of touch at the moment.
