Some Arsenal supporters have lauded the midfield performance of Granit Xhaka following the 1-1 Premier League draw against Bournemouth at the Vitality Stadium.
The Switzerland international has received a mixed reception from the fans throughout the first half of the season but his performances have shown an improvement in the past few weeks.
Against the Cherries, the 27-year-old had a solid display in the centre of the park where he controlled the proceedings with a 94 percent passing success and he also made two tackles and two interceptions (whoscored).
He was particularly impressive with his quick distribution seeking to find Mesut Ozil on the attack and also excelled with his long balls as he managed to complete 11 of his 12 attempted.
As a result, there has been a fairly positive reaction towards the Swiss’ display and some of the fans have taken to Twitter to show their appreciation for the same.
Alongside Xhaka, the likes of Lucas Torreira and Mesut Ozil certainly played with renewed confidence in Arteta’s first game in charge of the club and the latter provided four key passes, although only one of them was capitalised upon.
Meanwhile, Xhaka’s future with the Gunners remains uncertain, particularly with his agent confirming that the player has agreed terms with Hertha Berlin and it remains to be seen how the club deal with the midfielder’s situation at the turn of the year.
