Mesut Ozil sends message to Arsenal fans after Chelsea defeat

Arsenal playmaker Mesut Ozil has expressed his disappointment on Twitter following the club’s 2-1 Premier League defeat at the hands of Chelsea at the Emirates Stadium.

The Gunners had the opportunity to end the year on a high note but that was not the case with the visitors making a late comeback to seal the victory.

The north London side started the game as the stronger side on the field and there were a number of top performers in the final third including Ozil, who evaded opposition players with some impressive pieces of skill.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang bagged the club’s opening goal in the 13th minute from a corner where he was assisted by Calum Chambers and the advantage could have been doubled shortly after, had Alexandre Lacazette shown better control with his first touch in the box.

The Blues came into the game after Jorginho was brought onto the field with a formation change and that switched the momentum in the visitors’ favour as they controlled the proceedings for vast parts of the second half.

Jorginho was indeed fortunate to escape a second yellow card and the Italian eventually made the difference with the key equalising goal after a rare Bernd Leno error from a free-kick, which allowed an easy tap-in in the 83rd minute.

At 1-1, the Gunners were always expected to push for the winning strike but that was not meant to be with the Blues launching a counter-attack of their own to seal maximum points from the derby.

This has certainly disappointed a large section of the fans, who witnessed a good response from the side in Mikel Arteta’s first home game in-charge and Ozil has sent a message on his official Twitter account regarding the same.
