Martinelli and Ozil start, Predicted Arsenal lineup (4-2-3-1) to face Sheffield United
|Arsenal are scheduled to host Sheffield United in Saturday’s Premier League clash at the Emirates Stadium.
The Gunners have remained unbeaten for the past three games under manager Mikel Arteta but they could only manage a draw in the recent league clash at Crystal Palace.
The result has dropped them 11 points behind the top four and their prospects of qualifying for the Champions League through the league remain bleak unless they can build up a strong winning run.
Formation: 4-2-3-1
Predicted Lineup:
Bernd Leno has been a constant figure in goal when it comes to the Premier League this season and he will definitely start for the Gunners on Saturday.
In the defence, Ainsley Maitland-Niles is likely to continue at right-back with Arteta confirming Hector Bellerin is still not ready to make his comeback after a hamstring concern.
At left-back, Bukayo Saka may feature ahead of Sead Kolasinac, who is doubtful for the game after picking up a thigh strain in training earlier in the week.
At the heart of the backline, David Luiz and Sokratis Papastathopoulos will definitely start. The duo have impressed as a pair in the past few games and the former was unfortunate with his own goal in the 1-1 draw at Palace.
Granit Xhaka and Lucas Torreira have been the preferred midfield personnel under Arteta but the latter is doubtful for the clash with a hip concern sustained during the London derby last weekend.
In this case, Matteo Guendouzi will most certainly partner Xhaka in the centre of the park with the likes of Joe Willock and Daniel Ceballos offering the support off the bench, if required.
Further forward, Nicolas Pepe, Mesut Ozil and Alexandre Lacazette are pretty much assured of their places and the only change should occur on the left side of the Gunners attack.
Club-captain Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is unavailable for the next three domestic games after his straight sending off at Palace and that should offer Gabriel Martinelli with a start on the left wing.
