‘We’ve got a player’, some Arsenal fans appreciate attacker’s performance vs Sheffield United
|A section of Arsenal supporters have appreciated the performance of Gabriel Martinelli during the club’s 1-1 draw against Sheffield United in the Premier League on Saturday.
The Gunners had the opportunity to return to winning ways in the top-flight against the Blades and they managed to find the breakthrough prior to half-time when Martinelli was on the right end of a Bukayo Saka cross, which was slightly deflected into his path.
The north London side could not double their advantage during the second half and they were eventually made to pay the price with John Fleck scoring with a half-volley in the 83rd minute as Sheffield shared the spoils at the Emirates Stadium.
Of course, things could have been different, had referee Mike Dean handed a penalty for a blatant foul on Nicolas Pepe in the box in the 69th minute but that was not the case with the spotkick declined even after the use of the VAR.
Despite the draw, a number of Gunners fans have taken the positives from the performance and a few of them have heaped praise on Martinelli, who has now contributed nine goals and two assists in his debut campaign with the club.
