‘Destined for greatness’, these Arsenal fans praise attacker’s display after Chelsea draw

A selection of Arsenal fans have heaped praise on Gabriel Martinelli following the club’s 2-2 Premier League draw against Chelsea on Tuesday night.

The Gunners played for nearly 70 minutes with 10 men on the field following David Luiz’s sending off, but they managed to salvage a point with an admirable second half performance.

Jorginho’s penalty in the first half saw the Blues gain a 1-0 advantage but they were unable to double their lead during the early phase of the second half due to some resolute defending from the Gunners.

Eventually, Martinelli bagged the equaliser after the hour mark from a stunning 67-yard run. He had a bit of luck with N’Golo Kante slipping along the way but he managed to show terrific composure to find the net after making it to the opposition box.

The north London side went behind for the second time in the derby with a 84th minute goal from Cesar Azpilicueta but club-captain on the night, Hector Bellerin, equalised with a sublime left-footed curling effort which was precise enough to get the better of Kepa Arrizabalaga.

Bellerin was handed with the official man of the match for his goal on his comeback after a hamstring injury, but some of the fans have appreciated Martinelli, who showed a terrific workrate once again and contributed towards a well-earned draw by the side.
