Daniel Ceballos wants to leave Arsenal because of this reason: report

Spain international Daniel Ceballos has reportedly contacted Real Madrid over the possibility of terminating his loan contract with Arsenal during the current transfer window.

Ceballos made an exciting beginning to his Gunners career and he become an instant favourite among the fans with two assists in the 2-1 Premier League win over Burnley in August.

However, he has been unable to replicate the same level of performance every since, and prior to his hamstring injury in December, he managed to contribute just one goal from 15 appearances.

Ceballos has been available for selection over the past few weeks following his recovery but so far, he has been unable to feature off the bench under current manager Mikel Arteta.

According to Spanish outlet Cadena SER, the former Real Betis youngster has been in contact with Los Blancos regarding the possibility of terminating his loan deal with the Gunners.

It is added that the 23-year-old is concerned that he could miss out on the Euro 2020 squad with Spain due to the lack of gametime at Arsenal and he would prefer to join another club on loan where he has the assurance of regular first-team football.

Earlier last month, a section of Arsenal fans were excited by the prospect of watching Ceballos work under Arteta but the Gunners boss appears keen on working with a set of midfielders, who will remain with the club on a long-term basis.

Arsenal would certainly command a partial refund of the loan fee, should Ceballos return to the Bernabeu. The next few days should give a clear indication whether there is any truth to the speculation over the midfielder’s future.
