Arsenal handed double fitness boost ahead of Newcastle United clash: report
|Arsenal have been handed with a double fitness boost ahead of their Premier League clash against Newcastle United at the Emirates Stadium this weekend.
According to Evening Standard, both Bukayo Saka and Sead Kolasinac were been involved in the full training sessions in Dubai and they should make the squad to face the Magpies on Sunday.
Kolasinac has been out of action since the New Year’s Day Premier League clash against Manchester United after he picked up a thigh strain in training.
Meanwhile, Saka has been available throughout the campaign but he appeared to pick up an injury scare this month after he was substituted at the midway stage of the goalless draw at Burnley with a knock to his knee and hip.
The left-back position has been a problematic area for the Gunners this term and Saka has regularly featured as the makeshift option in recent months with both Kolasinac and Tierney on the sidelines.
Should Kolasinac make his comeback this weekend, Saka could get the chance to play higher up the field where he is most comfortable with the ball at his feet.
Still, there are no assurances that he may command a starting role but the Gunners graduate should receive playing time, considering he has been consistent with his displays over the course of his breakthrough season.
Meanwhile, Tierney won’t be available for the upcoming league clash. The Scotland international has been involved in individual training sessions and he could return to action in three weeks’ time, provided there are no setbacks.
