Ceballos and Willock start, Predicted Arsenal lineup (4-2-3-1) to face Olympiacos
|Arsenal are scheduled to face Olympiacos on the road in the first leg of their Europa League round of 32 clash on Thursday. The Gunners returned to winning ways in the Premier League with a 4-0 drubbing of Newcastle United last weekend and the result should boost the confidence of the players ahead of the away game at Olympiacos.
Formation: 4-2-3-1
Predicted Lineup:
Emiliano Martinez has been the first-choice goalkeeper when it comes to the Cup competitions. The Argentine is expected to start in goal on Thursday night.
In the defence, Arteta may consider a couple of changes. Sead Kolasinac could get his first piece of action at left-back after recovering from a thigh strain.
Shkodran Mustafi has been the player, who has regularly been rotated from the central defence. We are fancying Sokratis to take up his place. David Luiz and Hector Bellerin should make up the rest of the backline.
In the midfield, Lucas Torreira remains doubtful with an illness and has yet to travel to Athens. As such, Arteta may stick with Granit Xhaka and Daniel Ceballos in the centre of the park.
Matteo Guendouzi has been included in the travelling squad but it is unclear whether he will make the starting lineup after being dropped for the Magpies clash due to his poor attitude in training during the winter break.
In the attack, we are fancying Arteta to go with the strongest possible combination. Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Nicolas Pepe should take up the wide attacking roles.
Joe Willock may slot into the number 10 spot with Mesut Ozil unavailable for the game due to personal reasons. Alexandre Lacazette should lead the attack after ending his nine-game goal drought in a lively cameo against Newcastle United on Sunday.
