A section of the Arsenal fans were delighted with the display of Reiss Nelson during the club’s 2-0 win over Portsmouth in the fifth round of the FA Cup.
The 20-year-old made his first appearance in seven weeks after recovering from a hamstring concern and he managed to impress with a few quality crosses into the box.
With one of those, Nelson managed to assist Sokratis Papastathopoulos for the opening goal prior to the half-time whistle and he came up with another quality delivery for Eddie Nketiah, who made it 2-0 for the Gunners.
Some of the supporters were impressed with the youngster’s performance on his comeback and a few of them took to Twitter to appreciate the same.
Twitter Reactions:
Nelson has hardly featured for the Gunners under Mikel Arteta due to the untimely hamstring injury but he should get more gametime in the coming weeks.
Unlike Gabriel Martinelli and Bukayo Saka, the winger has yet to make any notable impact in the Premier League with the chances offered and it remains to be seen whether he can prove himself during the backend of the campaign.
Arsenal will be in Premier League action against West Ham United at the Emirates Stadium on Saturday. The club have the chance to win three top-flight games on the bounce for the first time this season.
