Arsenal confident of signing 26-year-old Premier League attacker: report
|Arsenal are reportedly confident of landing the signature of Ryan Fraser on a free transfer once his contract with Bournemouth expires during the summer.
The Scotland international was regularly linked with a move to the Emirates during the 2019 summer transfer window but ultimately, a deal failed to materialise with the Cherries deciding to keep hold of the winger.
Fraser has since continued with his contract standoff with the South Coast outfit and he is expected to be released for free ahead of the next transfer window.
According to TeamTALK, the Gunners have re-entered the race to sign the 26-year-old and they are confident that they can secure his services ahead of their rivals.
Fraser was one of the best-performing wingers during the previous campaign and he managed to contribute seven goals and 14 assists in the Premier League for the Cherries.
However, he has not been able to replicate the same showing during the current season with just one goal and four assists from 28 games in the top-flight.
As per TeamTALK, Mikel Arteta may have to work with a reduced transfer budget for the summer and in such a case, Fraser could fit the requirements, given he would be available on a Bosman move.
The Scot may have experienced a disappointing 2019/2020 campaign under Eddie Howe but he could be considered as an inexpensive gamble for the Gunners ahead of next season.
Should Fraser manage to rediscover his form from the previous campaign, he could prove a good piece of business for the Gunners with a small outlay. That should allow the club to focus on strengthening the backline which continues to remain an area of weakness.
