‘Quality player’, ‘Class’: some Arsenal fans react to 25-year-old midfielder linked with club

A selection of Arsenal fans have reacted to a recent report from FootMercato, which has linked Corentin Tolisso with a possible move to the Emirates Stadium.

The Frenchman has been with Bayern Munich since the summer of 2017 but his future has recently been put into question as he has struggled to command regular playing time with the German outfit.

Amidst this, FootMercato claims that Bayern would consider his sale during the next transfer window and the Gunners are one of the many clubs, who are said to hold an interest in signing him.

A few Gunners supporters have reacted on the speculation on Twitter and some believe the midfielder should be reunited with former Lyon teammate Alexandre Lacazette next term.

Twitter Reactions:

Tolisso had an impressive debut season with the Bavarian giants where he contributed 10 goals and seven assists from 40 appearances but he could not replicate the showing last term after suffering a serious knee injury in September 2018.

The Frenchman has been injury-free since the beginning of 2020 but he has not been a regular starter under manager Hansi Flick. Overall, he has made 24 appearances this season, where he has contributed three goals and five assists.

Mikel Arteta is likely to want a midfield addition during the summer, particularly with Daniel Ceballos expected to return to Real Madrid when his loan contract expires at the end of the campaign.

Tolisso is primarily a central midfielder by trade but the 25-year-old is pretty versatile and has the knack of making goalscoring contributions with his regular forward movement.

Defensively, he does not like to make tackles but can still track back with plenty of energy. As per Transfermarkt, he could be available for around £23m and Arsenal would surely be tempted to sign him at such a price, having previously missed out on his services under ex-boss Arsene Wenger.
