Cesc Fabregas and Thierry Henry’s Instagram live came up with several highlights of the Spaniard’s time at Arsenal.
The 33-year-old is currently playing for Ligue 1 side Monaco, a former team of Henry’s, and caught up with his old team-mate on social media.
Here are some of the best quotes from the 35 minute live, while you can watch the full video below.
Henry on Fabregas:
“People like Patrick and Gilberto couldn’t get near you and that’s when we knew you could play with us straight away. Then you go and score in the Carling Cup and the rest is history.
“Sometimes people do not mention it. People rightly talk about Kevin De Bruyne right now because the guy is unbelievable and David Silva unbelievable but for me you’re up there with those guys.”
Fabregas’ dream five-a-side team:
Iker Casillas (GK), Andres Iniesta, David Silva, Thierry Henry, Leo Messi.
Fabregas on being an “Arsenal man”:
“I am and it will be part of me for the rest of my life. I would never have thought I would have mixed feelings between these two teams, but you go there and you meet people, you win titles, become important and win titles. You end up having so much love for the club. You are right. You don’t forget where you come from and I came from Barcelona academy and I will never forget that, but to make it on the biggest level was at Arsenal and I don’t forget that.
“The management at the club gave me so much leadership and everything I needed to be a top player. I will never deny that I will always be an Arsenal man in my heart.”
Fabregas on celebrating Arsenal goals while at Barcelona:
“I was at home in Barcelona on my sofa that day watching the game because I never really miss any Arsenal games.
“I was with my best friend I remember and I said, ‘Man he’s scoring.’ I swear. I remember that day. I said, ‘He’s going to score, it’s destiny, this is going to happen’. And when it happened, I swear I remember I was jumping.”
