Mavropanos impresses again during Nuremberg draw

Dinos Mavropanos had another solid game at centre back as Nuremberg drew 1-1 with Erzgebirge in Germany.

The 22-year-old has been a revelation in 2.Bundesliga since joining on loan from Arsenal in January, and once again exemplified his defensive qualities with an impressive game in the heart of defence for Nuremberg.

Mavropanos played in the left centre back position and despite being booked in the 75th minute, was statistically the highest performing defender on the pitch.

He won all of his 7 aerial duels, made 3 interceptions, 12 recoveries and recorded a 85% pass accuracy rate.

Signed from Greek side PAS Giannina two years ago, Mavropanos is beginning to showcase his talents on the wider stage and it’s no surprise to to see the player identified by former head of recruitment Sven Mislintat earning rave reviews in Germany.

Former manager Arsene Wenger opted to keep Mavropanos at the club after he impressed in his first few training sessions and after a series of injury issues, the starlet is flourishing with regular game-time at Nurenberg.
