Arsenal offer Thomas Partey contract that would TRIPLE his wages

Arsenal has reportedly offered Atletico Madrid midfielder Thomas Partey a contract that would triple his current wages as the transfer saga continues to develop.

According to GOAL, the Gunners’ offer has been on the table for some time which has put pressure on the Spanish club to work on Partey’s extension.

Due to restrictions imposed by the COVID-19 pandemic, Atletico Madrid are reportedly unable to offer Partey his improved contract in full, despite making previous agreements earlier in the year.

The Spanish club wants to keep the 27-year-old though and are still working on extending his contract until 2025.

The 27-year-old has been a stand out player for Atletico Madrid this season, making a total 35 appearances in all competitions under manager Diego Simeone. The Ghanian is currently one of the most sought after midfielders in Europe today with interest from Arsenal, Juventus, and PSG.

Earlier in the week, reports from ESPN claimed that Arsenal would be prepared to take the financial hit in order to complete the signing of Partey.

However, whether the Gunners will be able to complete the signing of Partey or not completely lies on the midfielder’s shoulders. The 27-year-old has different options on the table and it’ll be up to him to decide.

It’s believed the Ghanaian midfielder will make a decision on his future once the league season comes to an end.
