Ceballos to exit Arsenal at the end of the season as he eyes return to Spain
|Arsenal midfielder Dani Ceballos could depart the London club and return to Spain at the end of the season once his loan deal expires.
According to Spanish-publication MARCA (via Sport Witness), the 23-year-old wants to return to his homeland to play football more regularly.
Despite some promising performances, the Spaniard has struggled to receive consistent game time at Arsenal – starting just 10 out of a possible 29 league games. Injuries have been a concern for the midfielder too considering he was absent for much of late last year.
The midfielder, currently on loan from Real Madrid, was reportedly close to departing the club in January for Valencia on loan. But the former side rejected their offer as they believed Ceballos was better off completing his time in north London.
Should the midfielder opt to return to Spain, it’s reported that Valencia are still interested in signing him and believe he would fit into the squad well.
The 23-year-old featured for Arsenal last night in their Premier League return versus Manchester City, coming on just after 10 minutes for the injured Granit Xhaka.
Considering the injury, Ceballos could get the regular playing time that he desires.
