Jordi Osei-Tutu, on loan at VfL Bochum from Arsenal, scored the German club’s second goal in their 2-2 draw against SpVgg Greuther Fürth earlier today. The result sees Bochum stay in sixth place in the 2. Bundesliga table. Osei-Tutu has scored three goals and provided two assists in the German second division since the league restarted.
The 21-year-old joined Arsenal’s youth academy from Reading in 2015 when he was 16 years old. He has been on loan at Bochum since the start of the season. He has scored five goals and provided three assists in the 2. Bundesliga.
Osei-Tutu had primarily played at full back prior to his move to Germany. He has been deployed as a winger at Bochum and his attacking productivity shows that the experiment has been largely successful.
Arsenal head coach Mikel Arteta and academy manager Per Mertesacker will definitely be keeping a close eye on Osei-Tutu’s progress. Arsenal have given a number of their academy graduates an opportunity to impress in the first team this season. If Jordan Osei-Tutu maintains his current form, it won’t be long before we see him starting games for the Gunners at the Emirates in the Premier League.
