Arsenal to reportedly trigger Partey’s buyout clause in the coming days

Arsenal will make an offer of £45 million for Thomas Partey thereby triggering his release clause according to FootballGhana

The Atletico Madrid midfielder has been strongly linked with a move to North London in the last few months and the interest from both Arsenal and Partey is considered to be so strong that the Madrid club have begun their search for the Ghanaian’s replacement. They are said to have contacted Mallorca to enquire about their midfielder Idrissu Baba who also happens to be from Ghana.

Arsenal head coach Mikel Arteta is said to be desperate for the club to sign Thomas Partey. He sees the move as a key part of his plans to overhaul the team for next season. The former Manchester City assistant manager believes Partey’s £45 million fee is a bargain considering the enormous talent the player possesses.

It is believed that failure to secure Champions league football will not hamper Arsenal’s efforts to bring the midfield powerhouse to the Emirates.

Partey has been a crucial part of Simeone’s squad this season. He has made 39 appearances in all competitions for the Rojiblancos in the current campaign. He has scored three goals and provided one assist. The Ghanaian has contributed to Atletico Madrid’s impressive defensive record that has seen them concede just 22 goals this season in La Liga.
