Arsenal are ‘well advanced’ in their pursuit to sign Dominik Szoboszlai

Arsenal are ‘well advanced’ as they look to secure the signing of RB Salzburg midfielder Dominik Szoboszlai, according to French journalist Manu Lonjon.

AC Milan and Paris Saint Germain are also said to be interesting in the 19 year old Hungarian.

Arsenal were heavily linked with Szoboszlai last summer but a move failed to materialise. The midfielder has scored 10 goals and provided 16 assists in 37 appearances for the Austrian club this season. His impressive performances have made him one of Europe’s most exciting prospects.

It is thought that an offer between £23 and £27 million would be sufficient to secure the Hungarian’s signature. He has been likened to Lazio’s Sergej Milinković-Savić in terms of the kind of midfielder that he is.

Szoboszlai is comfortable playing in the middle of the park but can also play on the left if required. His physicality, technical ability and vision are well beyond his years. He is calm and composed on the ball. The Hungarian is always ready to get stuck in and make a tackle to recover possession. He always tries to unlock opposition defences with a good final ball and strives to have a decisive impact in games.

He started his career in Hungary and moved to Austria in 2016. He joined RB Salzburg in 2018 after a spell with Liefering. This season has been one of great progress for the young Hungarian who already has 8 caps for his national team.

He would be an exciting addition to what we expect will be a new look Arsenal midfield.
