Atletico interested in swap deal involving Thomas Partey and Matteo Guendouzi

Atletico Madrid are open to doing a player swap with Arsenal that would see Thomas Partey head to the Emirates and Matteo Guendouzi to the Wanda Metropolitano, according to Gol Digital.
It is believed that the Gunners are willing to trigger Partey’s £45 million buyout clause and bring him to North London but Atletico have been alerted to the possible availability of Guendouzi and are more interested in a straight swap involving the two. Recently, there have been a lot of rumours regarding the Frenchman’s future at Arsenal and the club are said to be open to moving him on.
Diego Simeone is a big fan of the former Lorient midfielder and is keen on working with him. Guendouzi is only 21 years old and has already shown a great deal of promise at Arsenal. He is seen as one of France’s brightest young talents and Cholo is excited about the prospect of adding him to the Atletico squad.

Atletico believe that Guendouzi is not happy about his situation in North London and would consider their offer. The Arsenal midfielder has two years remaining on his contract and does not look likely to sign a new deal with the club anytime soon. The Gunners would not want to head into next season with a lack of clarity on the tenacious midfielder’s future.
The Rojiblancos are well aware of the inevitable departure of Partey who has been an essential part of their midfield. They believe in the midfielders currently at their disposal but feel that Guendouzi is well suited to their brand of football. They are confident that the allure of fighting for trophies will convince the Frenchman to agree to a move to the Madrid-based club.
