Arsenal to replace outgoing physio Chris Morgan with PSG’s Bruno Mazziotti

Arsenal will replace head of physiotherapy Chris Morgan, who is expected to return to Liverpool, with Paris Saint-Germain’s Brazilian physio Bruno Mazziotti according to David Ornstein of The Athletic.

Chris Morgan joined Arsenal in the summer of 2018 after a spell with Crystal Palace. Prior to his stint with Palace, he had worked with the FA, Los Angeles Galaxy and Liverpool where he spent over a decade.

The Gunners came close to losing their head of medical services, Gary O’Driscoll, to Liverpool earlier this year but it is reported that Arsenal head coach Mikel Arteta convinced him to stay.

Bruno Mazziotti has worked with Arsenal’s technical director, Edu Gaspar at both Corinthians and the Brazilian national team. They look set to be reunited for a third time in North London.

A move for Mazziotti is reportedly close to completion and will see the PSG physio join Arsenal once the Paris-based club’s participation in the Champions League is complete.

Arsenal’s squad has had its fair share of injury issues in the recent past and the club will hope that Mazziotti can have a positive impact on the team’s fitness. He is said to be rated highly by some of the best in the game including Ronaldo, Neymar, Thiago Silva and Alexander Pato.
