Sokratis hopes Aubameyang extends his stay at Arsenal

Sokratis has said that he would be happy if his teammate Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang’s long term future were to lie at Arsenal, in an interview with talkSPORT.

In the interview, Sokratis can be heard saying he rates the former Dortmund forward as one of the best strikers in the world. He goes on to say that if Aubameyang spends his career at Arsenal he will be very happy. On hearing this, the reporter asks him whether the Gabon international will stay with the Gunners but Sokratis quickly says he does not know.

Aubameyang recently scored a brace in the North London side’s 4-0 win over Norwich City and became the fastest Arsenal player to score 50 Premier League goals, doing it in just 79 games. This season, he has scored 22 goals and provided 2 assists in 36 appearances across all competitions.

The Arsenal skipper has one year remaining on his deal and there are fears that he could fail to agree a contract extension and leave the club in the summer. Barcelona, Inter Milan and Paris Saint Germain have been credited with an interest in the player. Reports from France today have suggested that PSG head coach Thomas Tuchel is very interested in being reunited with his former Dortmund talisman.
