Atletico Madrid and Juventus initiate talks to sign Alexander Lacazette

Juventus and Atletico Madrid have initiated talks to sign Arsenal’s Alexander Lacazette, according to L’Equipe via Get French Football News.

Lacazette has two years remaining on his deal and his future at Arsenal seems far from certain. Atletico Madrid have had a long standing interest in the player and even had an agreement in place to sign him in 2017 before being handed a transfer ban which scuppered the move. They watched on as the former Lyon striker moved to the Emirates.

The Rojiblancos are determined not to miss out on Lacazette for a second time and are willing to include one of their players in any deal to secure the Frenchman’s signing. Thomas Partey is Arsenal’s primary target in the upcoming transfer window and there have been many rumours about a swap deal involving the two. Atletico expect Partey to leave the club in the summer and know that he would like to move to Arsenal. It would not be surprising to see the two clubs strike a deal that involves a player exchange.

Juventus are known to be in the market for a striker and are interested in Arsenal’s number 9. They would also be willing to send a player to the Emirates if it meant securing Lacazette’s signature.

Inter Milan are said to be keen on Lacazette should Lautaro Martinez depart the club in the summer.

All these clubs will have to wait until the summer as Arsenal have indicated that they will not enter into negotiations until the season is over.
