Arsenal are trying to sign Thomas Partey from Atletico Madrid and have even offered them a swap deal but have yet to reach advanced talks or find an agreement, according to Fabrizio Romano of Sky Sports Italy.
Thomas Partey has been offered a new contract by the Rojiblancos but has not agreed to sign it so far. Atletico Madrid are preparing for his exit this summer and have begun their search for his replacement. The club is aware that he wants to move to England and play for Arsenal.
The Gunners view the Ghanaian international as their primary transfer target. He has been scouted by head of recruitment Francis Cagigao who has been keen on bringing him to the Emirates for a long time now. Arsenal head coach Mikel Arteta and technical director Edu Gaspar have signed off on the deal and the club will do everything they can to sign the player.
Pierre Emerick Aubameyang has one year remaining on his deal and is yet to sign a new contract with the Gunners. The Gabon international recently said that the keys to his future were in Arsenal’s hands. It had been reported that both parties would discuss the player’s future and try to find an agreement.
According to Romano, a contract extension for Aubameyang has been on the table since December. If there is no interest in the Arsenal captain from Europe’s top clubs in the next few weeks, the player will consider the offer.
