Arsenal interested in signing Dani Ceballos permanently this summer
|Arsenal are interested in signing Dani Ceballos permanently in the upcoming transfer window and Real Madrid would be willing to sell him for £23 million according to Spanish media outlet Marca.
Ceballos signed for the Gunners on loan from Real Madrid last summer and has had a mixed season with the club. He was in and out of the team earlier in the season and injuries kept him out of the side for a significant period. The Spanish midfielder started Arsenal’s first Premier League game after the winter break in February and has held on to his place in the team ever since. He has been especially impressive since the Premier League restart.
The former Betis midfielder has scored two goals and provided two assists in 32 appearances across all competitions for Arsenal this season. Mikel Arteta has been impressed with his compatriot’s performances and is hoping the Gunners sign him permanently.
It was earlier believed that there was little chance of the player extending his stay at the Emirates. The 23 year old said he wanted to return to Real Madrid next year and fight for a place in the first team on multiple occasions. More recently, he seems to have adopted a different strategy and has stressed the importance of playing regularly next year to boost his chances of being included in Spain’s Euro 2021 squad.
Real Madrid seem keen to offload Ceballos this summer. Apart from Arsenal, Valencia and Real Betis are also interested in signing the player.
