Barcelona offer Coutinho to Arsenal and Newcastle

Barcelona have offered Philippe Coutinho to Arsenal and Newcastle according to Goal.
Coutinho signed for the Blaugrana from Liverpool in January 2018 for an initial fee of £105 million rising to £142 million based on add ons. Much was expected from him at the club but he has failed to deliver.

His lackluster performances led to him being shipped out on loan to Bayern Munich for the 2019/20 season. The German champions had an option to make his move permanent but chose against it and the player headed back to Spain. At Bayern Munich, the Brazilian scored nine goals and provided eight assists in 34 appearances across all competitions.
The Spanish giants are keen on getting Coutinho’s exorbitant wages off their books and have offered his services to Arsenal and Newcastle. Barcelona are aware that it will be difficult for any club to offer a fee for the player in addition to taking on his wages and so are open to another loan arrangement. They will need to move players like Coutinho on to stand any chance of signing Lautaro Martinez from Inter Milan.

The player’s agent is Kia Joorabchian, a man known to have close ties to the Arsenal hierarchy. Coutinho’s wages will make any move to the North London club a challenge to pull off but the Gunners are said to be mulling over their finances to see if a deal can be done.
I’d be horrified if Arsenal signed him on loan…
