Arsenal set to offer Aubameyang £250,000 a week contract offer in coming days

Arsenal are applying the finishing touches to a new £250,000 a week contract offer that they plan on presenting to Pierre Emerick Aubameyang in the coming days, according to Matt Law of The Telegraph. This will be the first official offer put on the table by the Gunners to extend Aubameyang’s stay in North London.

The club will need to convince their talisman of their intentions to support head coach Mikel Arteta and give him the best possible chance of returning the club to the top four in the Premier League. The Gabon international has forged a close working relationship with Arteta. He has made it known that he enjoys playing under the Spaniard and would consider signing a new contract if he were to remain at the helm.

Arteta has repeatedly said that he is confident Aubameyang will renew his contract with the Gunners. The former Manchester City assistant manager is keen on his captain signing a new deal and desperate for this to happen at the earliest.

On the advice of Arteta, the Gunners are on the verge of offering their first formal contract offer to Aubameyang which will be worth £250,000 a week plus bonuses.

The Gabonese striker is believed to be happy at Arsenal. He and his family are well settled in London. All that remains is for the player and the club to agree on the terms of the new contract and for Aubameyang to be convinced by the leaders of the club about Arsenal’s ambition.
