Ozil and Guendouzi will not be involved in tomorrow’s FA Cup Final

Mesut Ozil and Matteo Guendouzi will not be involved in tomorrow’s FA Cup final, according to Chris Wheatley of Gooner Talk.

The German playmaker has spent the last few days in Turkey. He has not played a single minute of football for the Gunners since the resumption of the Premier League. He has not featured in a matchday squad since Arsenal’s victory over Southampton over a month ago.

Arsenal’s number 10 has one year remaining on his contract but he looks likely to remain on the sidelines for the remainder of his time in North London unless he regains the trust of head coach Mikel Arteta. The Gunners are keen to sell him in the summer but it looks unlikely that the player will leave.

Matteo Guendouzi has been forced to train away from the first team for over a month on the orders of Mikel Arteta. This is because he refused to apologise and take responsibility for his behaviour in the closing stages of Arsenal’s loss at Brighton on June 20th in addition to other disciplinary issues he has run into in the last few months.

The former Lorient midfielder fell out of favour with Mikel Arteta early on in the Spaniard’s tenure but managed to work his way back into the Arsenal boss’ plans. It looks very unlikely that this will happen again.

The Gunners will look to sell Guendouzi in the upcoming transfer window.
