Arsenal named as fourth club interested in signing Gabriel Magalhaes
Arsenal is believed to be interested in signing defender Gabriel Magalhaes from French club Lille.
According to Alexis Bernard of le10sport, the Gunners have joined the race to sign the 22-year-old this summer.
The north London club are no strangers to Lille having signed winger Nicolas Pepe for a club-record £72 million last year. Depending on the extent of the Gunners’ interest, they could even ask Pepe to help convince Gabriel to join the club.
Previously, Manchester United, Everton and Napoli were the three clubs rumoured to be interested in the Brazilian but Arsenal’s interest has seemingly been confirmed too.
Gabriel has been in excellent form for Lille this season where he has featured in 24 out of a possible 28 league matches for the club.
Earlier in the week, the French side confirmed the signing of Sven Botman from Ajax who some speculate could be their replacement for the potentially outgoing Gabriel.
Napoli has reportedly submitted an offer to Lille of around €22 million including €3 million in add-ons for the 22-year-old defender.
Considering Arsenal’s need to strengthen in defence this summer, Gabriel could be the perfect signing – hopefully we can get this business over the line!
