Leeds United considering a move for Rob Holding
|Leeds United want to sign a centre back this summer and Rob Holding is one of the players being considered, according to the Daily Mail.
They are keen to re-sign Brighton’s Ben White who spent last season on loan at Elland Road and played a crucial role in the club’s promotion back to the Premier League. The 22 year old was part of a Leeds rearguard that had the best defensive record in the Championship.
Brighton have rejected two bids from Leeds for the English defender and are keen on retaining the player. The Seagulls have attempted to secure White’s future at the club but the player has rejected two offers to renew his contract at the Amex. He has two years remaining on his contract with the option of an additional year.
If Leeds fail in their attempt to sign White this summer, they will consider making a move for Rob Holding. The 24 year old has failed to cement his place in Arsenal’s starting eleven and the Gunners will listen to offers for the player this summer.
Holding signed for Arsenal from Bolton in 2016 for a modest fee of £2 million. He has made 78 appearances for the Gunners and won the FA Cup twice. The English defender is a fan favourite but his form has been indifferent and there is a feeling among Gooners that the team needs better central defenders to achieve our target of getting back into the top four.
If Arsenal do decide to sell Holding, they will expect to make a significant profit on the player. A loan cannot be ruled out.
