Arsenal and Atletico to resume negotiations for Partey after completion of Champions League

Arsenal and Atletico hope to resume negotiations for Thomas Partey after the Spanish side complete their Champions League campaign, according to TheAFCBell.

The Gunners and the Madrid based club have suspended talks this morning as the Rojiblancos gear up for their quarter final tie with Red Bull Leipzig. There is a hope that negotiations will move at a rapid pace once resumed.

Thomas Partey’s camp have been told by Arsenal that they are committed to sealing a deal for the player to complete his dream move to the Emirates. The Ghanaian midfielder has told the Gunners that he is willing to reject any offers he receives from Atletico or any other club as he is keen on playing for Arsenal and Mikel Arteta.

The North London club have been optimistic about their chances of signing Partey and this is why they made bids that were lower than the player’s £45 million release clause earlier in the transfer window. These offers were rejected by Atletico who have maintained that they will only let the player leave if his buyout clause is triggered.

The Ghana international’s representatives are confident that the Gunners will have sufficient funds to secure the player’s signature this summer.
