Juventus interested in Arsenal target Thomas Partey

Juventus are interesting in signing Thomas Partey, according to Italian media outlet La Gazzetta dello Sport

The Italian club is in the process of revamping new head coach Andrea Pirlo’s midfield options. Blaise Matuidi has sealed a move to David Beckham’s Inter Miami. The Old Lady will listen to offers for former Arsenal midfielder Aaron Ramsey.

They plan on building their midfield around Arthur, who will join Juventus from Barcelona this summer, and Rodrigo Bentancur. They view Partey as an ideal fit for their midfield due to his versatility and technical efficiency.

They see Arthur’s quality, Bentancur’s flexibility and Partey’s athleticism as ideal traits that will make their midfield complete. Juventus were eliminated from the Champions League by Lyon in the Round of 16. It was a bitter pill for the Italian giants to swallow and cost Maurizio Sarri his job as head coach.

Pirlo was swiftly announced as his successor and the hope is that the club will strengthen in the right areas and mount a serious challenge for Europe’s ultimate prize next year.

Thomas Partey has been heavily linked with a move to Arsenal for the last few months. He is the North London club’s primary transfer target and is reported to be interested in a move to the Emirates. He has a £45 million buyout clause and Atletico have made it clear that they will not let the player leave unless his release clause is triggered.

It is understood that Juventus are working on a limited budget this summer as they are feeling the financial effects of the coronavirus. It remains to be seen if they will be able to trigger Partey’s buyout clause.

The Old Lady’s interest is sure to make Arsenal move quickly to secure the Ghanaian midfielder’s signing. Atletico will take on Red Bull Leipzig in the quarter final of the Champions League later today and it is understood that any talks with the Spanish club for Partey’s signature will have to wait until their participation in Europe’s premier competition is complete.
