Mari hopes to return to full training in September
|Pablo Mari hopes to return to full training in September, according to the Evening Standard.
The Spanish defender joined Arsenal on loan from Brazilian club Flamengo in January 2020. He impressed Mikel Arteta despite only starting three games for the Gunners and was signed permanently by the North London club in June.
He suffered an ankle injury in Arsenal’s first game after the resumption of the Premier League against Manchester City. His injury ruled him out for the rest of the season. The 26 year old underwent surgery to fix the problem and has been recuperating in a clinic in Spain. He has received specialist attention and undergone extensive therapy.
His rehabilitation at the Recover medical centre in Cambrils has been successful. The Spaniard now plans to continue working with Arsenal’s medical staff in a bid to return to full training in September. As Mikel Arteta said towards the end of the season, Mari will miss the start of next season due to injury. The 2020/21 Premier League season will begin on September 12th.
The former Flamengo defender is hoping his efforts to recover will see him miss minimal action and return to the Arsenal first team at the earliest.
