Gabriel to choose between Napoli and Arsenal as Lille accept bids from both clubs

Lille have accepted a £27 million offer for Gabriel Magalhaes from both Napoli and Arsenal, according to French media outlet Le 10 Sport.

Everton and Manchester United were also interested in the Brazilian defender but have both dropped out of the race. The Lille centre back is expected to make a decision on his next club in the coming days.

It was earlier reported that Napoli had a gentleman’s agreement with Lille to sign Gabriel. It was said to be dependent on whether the Italian club managed to sell Kalidou Koulibaly, who has attracted interest from Manchester City. Based on recent reports, the news of a gentleman’s agreement between the two clubs seems to be untrue.

Gerard Lopez, Lille’s president has said that Gabriel’s next club is completely his decision, according to the BBC. He said that the club informed the Brazilian defender of the fee they expected to sell him for and once they received suitable offers for him, they let him know what his options were and are awaiting his final decision. According to Lopez, Lille do tend to give their departing players a little help deciding their next club based on what they think the best fit would be.
