Juventus interested in Alexander Lacazette

Juventus are interested in signing Arsenal’s Alexander Lacazette, according to Sky Sports.

The Italian club are looking to sign a new striker in the current transfer window to form a partnership with Cristiano Ronaldo and Paulo Dybala. Gonzalo Higuain, who has a year remaining on his contract, is expected to leave the club this summer.

Atalanta’s Duvan Zapata, Raul Jiminez from Wolves, Atletico Madrid’s Alvaro Morata and Roma striker Edin Dzeko complete the list of strikers the Old Lady are considering to replace Gonzalo Higuain.

Arsenal are believed to be ready to listen to offers for Lacazette. The 29 year old has two years remaining on his current contract and as things stand, there have been no updates regarding a new deal for the former Lyon striker. The Gunners have recently signed Willian on a free transfer and are believed to be on the verge of announcing a new three year deal for club talisman Pierre Emerick Aubameyang.

Lacazette joined the North London club from Lyon in 2017. He had an underwhelming season at Arsenal this year, scoring twelve goals and providing seven assists in 39 appearances across all competitions.

Head coach Mikel Arteta has spoken glowingly of Lacazette in the past and hinted that he would like to retain the Frenchman. Arsenal, however, are looking to raise funds this summer as they aim to rebuild the team and the Spaniard will be fully aware of the need to make some ruthless decisions for the greater good. It remains to be seen if selling Lacazette will be one of those ruthless decisions made by Arteta and technical director Edu Gaspar in the coming months.
