Arsenal offer Mesut Ozil to Galatasaray

Arsenal have offered Mesut Ozil to Turkish club Galatasaray, according to Turkish media outlet Hurriyet

The Gunners have been looking to move the German playmaker on as he is no longer a part of the club’s plans. He is the highest paid player in Arsenal’s history and rakes in £350,000 a week. He started Mikel Arteta’s first ten Premier League games as Arsenal head coach but did not play a minute of football and was left out of most matchday squads after the resumption of the Premier League.

The North London club have offered Ozil to a host of clubs in Europe including Fenerbahce, Basaksehir and Milan. Recently, Arsenal also knocked on Galatasaray’s door hoping the Turkish club would be tempted to make a move for the former Real Madrid man.

A document was sent to Galatasaray from Arsenal which included authorisation to meet with the player. The document was signed by former head of football Raul Sanllehi and provided the Turkish club with the contact details of Mesut Ozil and his representatives.

The Turkish club have begun investigating the Arsenal number 10’s financial requirements for a deal to be done between the two clubs that would see Ozil moving to Galatasaray this summer.

Mesut Ozil has one year remaining on his contract with the Gunners.
