Napoli try to convince Gabriel to choose them with a last ditch offer

Napoli are trying to convince Gabriel Magalhaes to choose them over Arsenal by making the player an increased offer that is being called a ‘big salary deal’, according to Sky Sports.

Arsenal, Napoli and Everton have had bids for the Brazilian defender accepted by Lille. The French club have allowed Gabriel to decide which of these three clus he would like to choose as his next club. He is expected to make his decision in the coming days. 

Everton are believed to be out of the running for the central defender’s signature despite having had an offer for him accepted by Lille. They were considered early favourites for the player’s signature but it looks like the 22 year old will choose either Arsenal or Napoli. 

The Gunners remain the favourites in the race to sign Gabriel. The player is understood to favour a move to the Premier League but the offer from Napoli is being seriously considered by him and his representatives. 

It had earlier been reported that Napoli would only be able to sign the Brazilian if they managed to sell Kalidou Koulibaly, who has been linked with a move to Manchester City. It does not look like the Senegalese defender will leave the club in the next few days and so it was starting to look less likely that they would secure Gabriel’s signing. Based on recent reports, however, Napoli remain firmly in the race.
