Lyon are yet to respond to Arsenal’s cash + Guendouzi offer for Houssem Aouar, according to Matt Spiro via L’Equipe.
The French club plan on selling Aouar this summer and the only concrete offer they have received for his services so far has come from Arsenal. Mikel Arteta is known to be a big admirer of the player and technical director Edu Gaspar has been in touch with Lyon sporting director Juninho to try to get a deal for the midfielder over the line.
The Gunners offered cash in addition to Matteo Guendouzi for Aouar but Lyon have not responded to the North London club’s proposal as of yet. Manchester City and Juventus are also believed to be keen on the player.
Houssem Aouar starred for Lyon in the Champions League this season as they reached the semi final of Europe’s premier competition where they lost 3-0 to a dominant Bayern Munich side. The French club were open to selling the player for £36 million this summer but are now hoping to get closer to £54 million due to his impressive displays in the latter stages of the Champions League.
The 22 year old is a Lyon academy graduate. He made his first team debut in February 2017. The French midfielder has scored 24 goals and provided 27 assists in 137 games for Lyon. This season, he scored nine goals and provided ten assists in 41 appearances across all competitions.
