Jordi Osei-Tutu has signed for championship side Cardiff City on loan. The Arsenal academy product will spend the 2020/21 season with the Welsh side.
Osei-Tutu spent the 2019/20 season on loan at German second division side VfL Bochum and was particularly impressive in the second half of the season. He is a right back but excelled in Germany when played as a right winger. He scored five goals and provided three assists in 22 appearances for the German club.
Cardiff City have been keen on signing a right back this summer and have gotten their man. Dion Sanderson, who spent the last six months of the previous season at Cardiff, was an attacking full back and they have signed another player with great attacking potential in Osei-Tutu. The Welsh side finished fifth in the Championship last season.
The 21 year old is highly rated at Arsenal and will hopefully develop his game even further at Cardiff and return to the club next season ready to stake his claim for a place in the first team.
The Gunners are close to agreeing a deal to sell Ainsley Maitland Niles to Wolves and some reports suggest Hector Bellerin could also leave the club this summer. The Spaniard has reportedly been offered to Paris Saint Germain. If both Maitland Niles and Bellerin depart the club this summer, Arsenal will have to address their options at right back as they will have only one recognised player who can play that position in Cedric Soares.
