Aouar wants to move to the Premier League

Houssem Aouar wants to move to the Premier League this summer but no club has matched Lyon’s asking price of £53.5 million yet, according to Fabrizio Romano.

Among Premier League clubs, Arsenal and Manchester City are believed to be interested in signing the 22 year old. The Gunners offered Lyon Guendouzi plus cash for Aouar but the French club did not even respond to that offer. Edu, Arsenal’s technical director, is scheduled to hold further talks regarding this transfer with Juninho, his counterpart at Lyon, in the coming weeks.

Juventus and Paris Saint Germain have also been credited with an interest in the French midfielder. Both clubs are yet to make a concrete offer for the player.

The Lyon academy graduate was a shining light in a Lyon team that reached the semi final of the Champions League last season. He scored nine goals and provided ten assists in 41 appearances across all competitions for the French club last season.

He made his debut for the senior side in 2017. He has scored 24 goals and provided 27 assists in 137 games for the club. Lyon want to sell him this summer but as earlier mentioned, would like to receive £53.5 million for his services. The player’s agent has said that he will take his time before making a decision on his next club. Aouar will wait to see which clubs make suitable offers for him and make a decision in September.
