Fiorentina have presented an offer for Torreira to his agent, according to ESPN Uruguay. The proposal is under consideration.
The Italian club are interested in signing the 24 year old this summer. Torreira is open to returning to Italy. He is keen on playing regularly to retain his place in the Uruguay national team and that is unlikely to happen at Arsenal.
Last season, the former Sampdoria midfielder lost his place in the side to Dani Ceballos after the winter break. Soon after, he suffered an injury in an FA Cup game against Portsmouth that ruled him out of action for a few months.

The Uruguayan returned to fitness soon after the resumption of the Premier League in June but found himself on the bench for the remainder of the season due to Ceballos’ impressive form.
The Gunners are close to re-signing the Spaniard on loan for the 2020/21 season. Mikel Arteta seems determined to rebuild Arsenal’s midfield and it looks like Torreira is not in his plans.
A host of Italian clubs are believed to be interested in the player but Fiorentina are leading the race to secure his signature. Arsenal are open to selling Torreira and are looking for a fee in the region of £27 million for his services.
It is unclear how Fiorentina have structured their offer for the 24 year old but the total sum offered is unlikely to be very different from the North London club’s valuation of the player.
