Arsenal value Bellerin at £35 million

Arsenal value Hector Bellerin at £35 million, according to Charles Watts of Goal

The Gunners know that they must move some players to pursue their remaining targets in the transfer window. Their financial situation was already weakening due to their absence from the Champions League for three years but the pandemic has had a further impact on funds at the club. They have already stretched themselves financially to sign Gabriel and Willian this summer.

The North London club have a host of players that they would ideally like to sell this summer. Matteo Guendouzi is one such example but interest in the French midfielder has been scarce. Lucas Torreira is another player the Gunners would like to sell and it looks like he is attracting very strong interest from Fiorentina and could be closing in on a return to Italy.

Napoli are interested in signing Sokratis and Arsenal are willing to listen to offers for the Greek defender. Mustafi, Ozil, Kolasinac and Holding are some of the other members of the first team that the club would like to move on.

Head coach Mikel Arteta made it clear that Arsenal would have to make some difficult decisions to assemble a team capable of qualifying for the Champions League next season.

It looks like Hector Bellerin and Alexander Lacazette’s future at the club could be impacted by the club’s need to generate funds to go after players like Thomas Partey and Houssem Aouar.

The Gunners boss does not want to sell either player as they are both in his strongest lineup. Bellerin has three years remaining on his deal and at 25 has his best years ahead of him. Arteta, however, is well stocked in the right back department with both Ainsley Maitland Niles, who now looks likely to remain at the club, and Cedric Soares.

PSG are interested in signing Bellerin and if they put in a bid that is in the region of £35 million, the North London side might choose to cash in on the player.

Alexander Lacazette has two years remaining on his Arsenal contract and there have been no updates on talks for a new deal. Players like Lacazette and Bellerin would go for significant money and if that were to happen, it could have a significant impact on the North London club’s transfer window.

It is believed that Arteta considers signing at least one more midfielder as crucial. Managing to move on some of the players the Gunners are keen to sell and approving the departure of a high profile member of the first team could be essential to securing the signing of either Partey or Aouar or both.

With a little over a month left in the current window, the stakes couldn’t be higher in North London.
