Bayer Leverkusen are interested in signing Sead Kolasinac this summer, according to German media outlet Sport Bild.
The German club are in need of a left footed defender and the 27 year old is their top target. Talks regarding a move are scheduled to take place next week. The Bosnia and Herzegovina international could be available for just over £9 million.
His wages are in excess of £8 million per year. Leverkusen could look to offer him a lower salary with a longer contract and bonuses. The player and his wife own a house in Dusseldorf, around 40 kilometres from Leverkusen.
Kolasinac’s place in Arsenal’s starting eleven is far from guaranteed. Kieran Tierney appears to be the North London side’s undisputed first choice left back. The 27 year old was utilised by Arteta on the left side of a back three at times last season but with the signing of Gabriel, it is unlikely he will get too much game time in central defence this season. The Gunners will listen to offers for the player as they look to move him on.
The powerful fullback would like to play in Germany again. He played for Schalke for six years from 2011 to 2017 before signing for Arsenal on a free transfer. AS Roma and Schalke are also interested in signing the player in the current transfer window.
