Top five differentials in Fantasy Premier League for Gameweek 3

Every week, Fantasy managers are always looking for that one player that their opponents in their mini leagues and the league in general don’t own. A big haul from a differential can shoot you up the ranks and is every manager’s dream.

We have picked five players who we believe are the best differential options for the upcoming gameweek. The condition is that they must be owned by less than 5% of the league.

Riyad Mahrez

  • Price – £8.5
  • FPL ownership – 1.8%

The Algerian did not start Manchester City’s opening game of the new Premier League season against Wolves but started in the club’s league cup tie against Bournemouth this week.

The former Leicester City player is likely to start against his former club this weekend and has the potential to rack up a big haul. He scored 11 goals and provided 12 assists in 33 Premier League appearances last season and will be hoping to open his account this season against Brendan Rodgers’ side.

Paul Pogba

  • Price – £8.0
  • FPL Ownership – 1.8%

The French midfielder will be expected to put in a good performance as United look to register their first win of the season in the Premier League after losing to Crystal Palace last week. Pogba is a crucial part of this Manchester United team and is capable of an explosive haul.

With Fernandes, Rashford, Greenwood and Pogba himself the side, Solskjaer’s team are likely to create a number of chances against Brighton at the AmEx Stadium and the former Juventus midfielder could be set for a great gameweek.

Che Adams

  • Price – £5.9
  • FPL Ownership – 2.7%

Adams was backed to have a great season by a number of Fantasy managers at the start of the campaign. His underlying numbers have been impressive and he has gotten more chances in front of goal than Danny Ings so far this season. Despite this, he has failed to find the back of the net but anybody who has watched Southampton will know that he is due a goal.

Ralph Hassenhuttl’s team travel to Burnley this weekend and will be optimistic about getting a positive result against a side that shipped four goals last week. Could this finally be the week Che Adams opens his account in the 2020/21 Premier League season?

Matheus Pereira

  • Price – £6.0
  • FPL Ownership – 2.5%

Pereira is the most attractive asset from West Brom and scored an unbelievable goal last week against Everton. He also bagged an assist in the same game. The Brazilian player scored eight goals and provided 20 assists in 42 appearances in the Championship last season. He comes up against a leaky Chelsea defence this week and we like his chances of continuing his good form.

Chris Wood

  • Price – £6.5
  • FPL Ownership – 2.2%

Wood scored in Burnley’s 4-2 defeat against Leicester City last week. He is the main goal threat in Sean Dyche’s team and will like his chances of scoring against a Southampton side that has conceded six goals in their first two Premier League games of the season. He scored 14 goals and provided one assist in 32 Premier League appearances for the Clarets last season and will be looking to have another strong campaign.
