Every week, Fantasy managers are always looking for that one player that their opponents in their mini leagues and the league in general don’t own. A big haul from a differential can shoot you up the ranks and is every manager’s dream.
We have picked five players who we believe are the best differential options for the upcoming gameweek. The condition is that they must be owned by less than 5% of the league.

FPL ownership – 4.5%
Mahrez, who was on our list of differentials last week as well, scored a goal and provided an assist against Leicester in City’s 5-2 defeat in gameweek 3. He got two bonus points and finished with twelve points in total. The Algerian played in City’s League cup tie against Burnley this week and is expected to retain his place in the team when they take on Leeds United on Saturday.
The 29 year old will be excited about the prospect of coming up against a Leeds United team that are susceptible at the back. With Kevin De Bruyne supplying him with chances and players like Sterling and Foden to link up with, we are backing Mahrez to get another monster haul.
Price – £5.9
FPL Ownership – 2.3%
Adams is another player who was one of our differentials last week. He retains his place on this list as he prepares to take on a West Brom side with an extremely poor defensive record so far in the Premier League. They have shipped 12 goals in their first three games and we believe Southampton will put them to the sword.
Adams bagged an assist in Ralph Hassenhuttl’s side’s 1-0 victory over Burnley last week and we are backing him to continue getting attacking returns against Slaven Bilic’s side.
Price – £7.0
FPL Ownership – 3.3%
Maddison is yet to start a Premier League game this season due to an injury he suffered in the previous campaign but has come off the bench in all three matches. He scored a goal and provided an assist in Leicester’s 5-2 win over Manchester City last week and looks set to start the game against West Ham at the King Power stadium on Sunday.
Brendan Rodgers’ side have scored goals for fun so far this season and we expect them to keep up their form this week against an improved but defensively susceptible West Ham team. Maddison is a crucial part of Leicester’s attack when he is on the pitch and could be set for a big haul.
Price – £6.3
FPL Ownership – 1.1%
Bowen has disappointed a number of his owners since the start of the season with two successive blanks in his first two games. He has dropped in value but rewarded those who showed faith in him for one more week with a brace that brought about a mammoth 15 point haul.
He and his West Ham side play Leicester this weekend and while they will be aware of the attacking potency of Vardy and co, they will also know that Brendan Roders’ side have a leaky defence. They have conceded two goals in two out of three games in the current campaign and we predict that this game will be full of goals for both sides. Bowen is an integral part of the London side’s attack and could repeat his heroics from last week at the King Power stadium.
Price – £5.0
FPL Ownership – 4.7%
Bellerin plays as a right wing back in Mikel Arteta’s side. So far this season, he has been getting forward and putting dangerous balls into the box. Arsenal are preparing to welcome Sheffield United to the Emirates this weekend. Chris Wilder’s side are the only Premier League team yet to score a goal in the current campaign and so we like the Spaniard’s chances of keeping a clean sheet. In addition to this, we believe he is well placed to register his first attacking returns of the season.
