Saka makes his debut for England in 3-0 victory over Wales
|Bukayo Saka made his debut for England in their 3-0 victory over Wales.
The 19 year old received his first call-up to the senior team ahead of the current round of international fixtures. In the previous international break, he was included in the England Under-21 squad for the very first time.
Saka started tonight’s game for the Three Lions. He started nervously but grew into the game. He had the opportunity to score on his debut in the second half after the ball was won back deep in Wales’ half and fed to Saka by Mason Mount. The Arsenal youngster will get plenty of opportunities to score for England in the future.
England took the lead through Dominic Calvert-Lewin in the middle of the first half. Jack Grealish sent a cross into the box and the Everton striker found the back of the net. Gareth Southgate’s side doubled their lead through unlikely goalscorer Conor Coady and made it 3-0 through Danny Ings who netted his first goal for his country.
Ainsley Maitland-Niles, another Arsenal academy graduate, came on as a second half substitute and made his second appearance for England.
The Three Lions take on Belgium on Sunday in the Nations League followed by Denmark on Thursday. Saka and Maitland-Niles will be looking to play a part in these two games.
