Gabriel sends message to Arsenal fans on Instagram

Arsenal defender Gabriel has taken to Instagram to send a message to the fans after the team’s defeat to Leicester City at the weekend.

The Gunners suffered a 1-0 loss at the hands of Leicester at the Emirates Stadium in the Premier League on Sunday evening.

Jamie Vardy’s goal in the 80th minute proved to be the difference between the two sides in North London.

Gabriel started the match and played for the entire 90 minutes, and the 22-year-old has expressed his disappointment at the final result on Instagram.

The Brazilian youngster, though, has made it clear to the fans that he and his teammates will fight to win their next game.

Gabriel wrote on Instagram: “Sometimes is not what we want but we keep fighting to win the next one 💪🏽”

Over the course of the 90 minutes at the Emirates Stadium on Sunday evening, hosts Arsenal had 56% of the possession, took 12 shots of which four were on target, and earned nine corners, according to BBC Sport.

Visitors Leicester had 44% of the possession, took six shots of which two were on target, and earned three corners, according to BBC Sport.

How did Gabriel play for Arsenal?

Gabriel, who joined Arsenal from Lille in the summer transfer window, did relatively well against Leicester.

The 22-year-old read the game well, looked very confident in possession, and has yet another good match.

According to WhoScored, the Brazilian youngster took two shots but none was on target, had a pass accuracy of 82.5%, won two headers, took 109 touches, and made two tackles, and one interception.

Bouncing back

Arsenal will return to action on Thursday evening when they take on Dundalk at the Emirates Stadium in Europa League Group B.

Mikel Arteta’s side won their opening Europa League game 2-1 against Rapid Vienna away from home in Austria last week.
